Our group's first stop was "Showtime" at ABS-CBN, I felt so excited before we go there because I will now see my idols like Vhong Navarro, Billy Crawford, Ryan Bang, Vice Ganda and many more celebreties! But when we arrived there and met the security guards, I was disappointed because they are not warm or hospitable. They are so strict to the point that I don't appreciate our visit there. But that's not our purpose of going there, we went there to observe and have some ideas how a live TV program is being shoot and how is it produced. :)

It's Showtime!! |
A live TV show like Showtime is a little more difficult for me to produce. First, they have to be ready on-air, both actors and staff. Secondly, they have to be time conscious. Thirdly, everything must be in order. And it is more tiring for the studio audience, everything is scripted. But I honor that because that will make the show better and interesting when the home viewers see how lively the people there are! It's hard to produce, I said to myself. While observing, I also realized that the other staffs, not just the actors or stars, make every show successful. Everybody's important there, teamwork is a must!

Love Radio <3 |
Let's go to the FM studio tour now, actually, we visited 4 FM studios (Love Radio, Yes FM, Easy Rock and Brgy. LS) but our group's focus is the LOVE RADIO. The DJ we met there is Missy Hista (but her real name is Ms. Thea). When I listen to Love Radio and I hear her, my impression is that she's palengkera and naughty. But when I met and interviewed her personally, I was shocked because she's a fine lady, well-educated and intellegent. She's just creating n image of a palengkera and a little bit green minded lady in radio for the sake of her "work". I've learned that being a DJ in a radio doesn't mean that you're just a talent, they say that they're also regular employees there. What a revelation I've learned! :D I also realized that they don't have a lot of vacations and free time as a DJs. In Love Radio, they only have the Holy Week as their vacation and the rest (like Christmas), they still have to work. But they said that they love their work and they love what they're doing. :)
Now, let's talk about our tour at the GMA Network studios. The people there are so nice and warm, even the security guards and artists. In fact, when we're inside the booth of DZBB, Kuya Germs gace us Empanada. Our mission there is to go to their AM Studio, DZBB. We met Kuya Germs and Sir Joel (some reporters of DZBB). We also met the four news writers of DZBB (Ms. Julianne, Mr. Nico, Mr. Mico and Mr. Archie). We spent almost an hour with them, interviewing them and they also told stories to us about their work as a writers in an AM station. One of them said to us that, "in media, we're not playing here", this statement strikes me the most. Yes, I guess in media, we are not to play and I have to remember that. In their case, "Imbestigador" is really a public service media. They told us stories that many people go there to ask for help. I said to myself that I want to be part of them someday. Their work is very stressful, handling problems that are not theirs, sharing news to the people, presenting news without biases, and of course, public service. It's not easy, I thought. But they said that they love what they do, all they have to do is to not let pressures get inside them. They also said to us that they should be the first one to deliver the news to the public. So they have to be alert and open to the people (sources).

Jamming with the news writers of DZBB :) |
I really enjoyed our trips/tours and I've learned a lot of things about media. I felt so close to my dreams. Hehe :D The writers of DZBB invite us to do our OJT there, as well as the MBC (where Love Radio is located). Now, I'm quite excited to be hands-on and I even imagine myself working there (whether to TV station or radio station). I want to experience being a DJ, a radio news writer, a camerawoman, a TV host, a director, a sound technical controller or anything that is connected to media. I don't like to be choosy anymore as long as I'll be enjoying my future work and world in public affairs. Anyway, I still have a lot of obstacles to overcome, school works to finish and training to undergo before I achieve my goals in life.Media, wait for me! :)
