July 15, 2011 "Cinemalaya's Opening" at CCP, as noted on my reminders. I was so excited to come there and experience the happenings. Early in the morning, I was sick 'til the time we arrived at the CCP. We came so early at four o'clock in the afternoon so we had the chance to take a look at museum there, capture some pictures and look at the paintings. After a long waiting, the most awaited part has finally going to happen, to experience the Cinemalaya's opening. But upon waiting, my expectations and excitement were lowered, actually I was disappointed because of the very small place where the opening was held.
I couldn't find a comfortable place where I can watch the directors' entrance and other celebrities or special people there. So I decided to sit on the front of a TV where I can watch the live coverage of the program. After a short time of waiting alone, the people started to enter at the main theater to watch the opening film so I also went inside. I sit beside my friends and took a rest because I feel so exhausted and sick. Before the film get started, the director, producer and actors were introduced first to the people.
The title of the film is "Maskara" and was dedicated for Johny Delgado. As we watched the film, I felt a longing, a sadness and I am sure it's because of the theme of the film. The dialogue of the artists seem so normal that were coming from their hearts. The was a part that made my tears fall, it was when Miles (actress) was saying "Takot akong maiwan mag-isa, takot akong mawalan ng mahal sa buhay, takot akong magpaalam..." I knew in my heart that I also fear that thing, so maybe a tear felt from my eyes. The film is simple but watching this made me feel comfortable after being disappointed and sick.
The experience I had gave me an impression to Cinemalaya's opening not that good and that I should not expect great things but keep supporting and going there even though I am not required.
