SURVIVORS!

Why? - A question to which reasons are sought, answers are awaited, and explanations are yet to ring our ears. However, we do not always get as much as we expected. The balance of life continues to play mind games in our everyday lives. Hence, we tend to ask more questions and expect more answers. We hope, we try, and... Yes, we get different results. We may fail or succeed; but more why questions come. That is when we make a big of a deal of how, in the midst of queries you wish to answer, will you get the words that will appease your hunger for truth. Sometimes, a word can contain more explanations than lengthy paragraphs that mean nothing but more ventures for more replies. In the same sense, though, a word can also yield more questions and, still, answer none of them. In the process, we would all condemn life. We would all put the ticking of the clock in a position where it would be torn to two choices of to stop or hasten. Moreover, we would all forget the impenetrability of time. But at the end of every day, we would all learn that answers, if we do get it, will still be just answers. The true essence of things will not, in any way, define us. Rather, we define them. Life, as we know it, is tough; but we gotta be tougher. We are... THE SURVIVORS!

The making of this picture was loads of fun. - From the conceptualizing, to the preparations and to the actual shoot itself. - This was indeed a fruitful experience for all of us especially, since this was our first photo shoot as a group. Coming up with the name was very challenging already. We had a lot of creative choices. At the end, we picked the name "Survivors" because we found it very striking. We, originally, chose to portray the celebrities in the reality TV show Survivor Philippines. The concept of the picture itself, though, came from Temptation Island since we are all girls in the group. So, upon coming up with the entire plan of where to have a shoot, what to wear, and how to make everything work out, we were already very excited. In fact, aside from the meeting we had during class, we also met two more consecutive days before the exact date of the shoot which was last June 29, Wednesday. The first day was allotted for picking up fifty pesos worth of clothes in the ukay-ukay in Buendia while the second was for actually ripping the clothes out. Indeed, we got a little tired but that was so much fun!

In the actual day of the shoot, we left Vito Cruz at around 1:30 in the afternoon. Since the taxi could not accommodate a number of 7 persons, we went to Tivoli Garden Residences riding two taxi cabs. (One almost got lost. HAHA.) Upon arrival, we started with work at once. We had a photographer (Angela Rama), a hair stylist (Aya Dizon), and a make-up artist (Sheena Galangue). We waited for 4 o'clock since it was said to be the best time when we could get good natural lighting. After all the preparations were done, we could barely explain the feelings we had inside.  We were a bit shameful of how we looked as there are lots of people looking at what we were wearing. We were also preparing on what look we would give the camera and what pose we would strike. As we stepped in the pool, all the feelings have entirely changed. I found my group mates so enticed with what was happening. We were very enthusiastic as we smiled, frowned, expressed a lot more other feelings. At the end, we just ENJOYED. That shoot was, indeed, a success. All of us cooperated and the pictures turned out well. Now, the most difficult part, I guess, would be picking the best picture to submit. Years from now, this will be a day all of us will never forget.
